photoblog image Dew Drop Chandeliers

Dew Drop Chandeliers

Not much to say about this, just loved the clarity and light on each of the droplets.  Hope you like it too.

I do like the 'hidden' stuff that you can find with macro/close up shots but I still need a decent colour in them to really love them.

OK I mentioned about RSS Readers, having only just discovered them.  A couple of people have asked about them so here is a bit more news.  This tells you what it is  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/3223484.stm and NewsGator is the reader that I am using http://www.newsgator.com/ngs/default.aspx There appear to be loads out there and some are free.

The benefit for me is that if I find a photoblog that I like I subscribe to it in my RSS reader and everytime that blogger posts a new image it will appear in my RSS Reader.  If I am away and they post 4 new shots I get all four and can mark them as 'read' when I have seen them.  It certainly saves me loads of time looking over sites to see that nothing new has been added or worse still not noticing when more than one shot had been posted.

Wow, very nice.
BeakerSt: Thanks Reza, came out crisper than I could have hoped considering it was handheld in the rain!

This is truly awesome simon. Wondefull framing. I'd buy that one! I know I've asked you again, but I'm truly considering buying the Sony DSC-R1. You happy with it?
BeakerSt: Very happy with it at the moment, 8 months in. It's up there at the top for image quality but the fixed lens will always be a limitation. There are a couple of online reviews...

http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/sony/dsc_r1-review/index.shtml
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscr1/

plus there is also a review of 'Advanced All-in-One Compacts' of which the R-1 is one of them.
One thing that is annoying is the 7 sec write time for RAW images, I am about to start playing with RAW files but 7 secs is a long long time. As far as I see my use of the camera I am happy to use this whilst I learn and as soon as I start to feel limited by the camera I will invest in a DSLR.

p.s. I've been using the Sony close-up lens plus some additional +1, +2 and +4 magnification filters for some of these shots.

BeakerSt: Cheers atunbi smile
All I have to say is beautiful! I love it!
BeakerSt: Thanks Gabrielle smile
I have to say this is amazing. The detail is fantasti and the colour is lovely. I tried something similar last time it rained here on a blade of grass but I couldn't get the same resolution as you have here even with my macro lens. It's great.
BeakerSt: Very complimentary sparklite, thanks
Ewww, excellent. Beautiful colors, detail, and DOF. Nice work. Cheers, Brent
BeakerSt: Cheers Brent smile

This is very lovely.
Looking at the camera you used makes it all the more impressive smile At ISO400 you still got this quality. WOW!
BeakerSt: Thanks but I'll need to work out what that means! It was low light and raining and without a tripod so I was pleased with the outcome. The only post processing necessary was a crop.
