Sweep

...or this?  Really not sure!

Thanks for the comments yesterday, and recently for that matter, not had as much time to reply as I've become a very wet landscape gardener in my spare time!

Help and opinion requested...
You're an international bunch, can I ask you for some help??  What would say were internationally recognised images symobolic of London.  They need to be instantaly recognisable on a poster without any explanation.  So far I've got London Eye, Millenium Bridge with St Paul's, perhaps a taxi/london bus, a tube or tube sign, a road sign of a particularly well known street like Oxford Circus.
Let your creative juices flow...

August's Challenge
Give me an image that shouts 'Summer' this time, deadline is the last day of the month and the usual rules apply.  If you don't know the rules then check out my 'About me' page.

DoF and angles are spot on!
BeakerSt: Thanks Kay, it's been entertaining presenting the same image in three different ways.

i like this one. the wee yellow leaf in the centre makes it for me. the perfect arching shadows - three infact are slight poetry. ~S.
BeakerSt: Hi sara, thanks for letting me know your opinion.
Nice picture again.
About international recognised symbols, I'd say: Big Ben, London Tower Bridge, metro line plan.
BeakerSt: Thanks Frank, I think I'll change subject now, 3 is plenty!
For what it`s worth, I prefer this shot. (:o)
BeakerSt: It's all very intereting, thanks Rosalyn
Hi

Just to be awkward I think I prefer yesterdays image, the lead in and lead out with the shadow at the top appeals to me justthat bit more.

I would suggest this, http://les.shutterchance.com/photoblog/fishermen_of_tomorrow_/, from the 16th August, for the summer challenge.

Regards

Les
BeakerSt: Not awkward at all Les, I think that it's fascinating and we all make judgements when composing. There are probably hundreds of compositions that 'work' but we may rate them in different orders of success.

Thanks for your entry also
Like very much the effect here ! Bravo !
BeakerSt: Cheers Zeb

I like this one better, I think! Not sure! This one is more obvious in composition terms but yesterdays was perhaps a little more clever. I will stay on the fence and announce a draw! wink

Pearly King/Queen, new Wembly ground or arch, Harrods, Nelsons column, Buckingham palace & guard, jellied eels, traffic jams, congestion charge sign, road rage! lol. mal
BeakerSt: Cheers mal, your contributions are always appreciated.

Its a really close call, but I think yesterdays just pips it for me.

re: London. How about a picture of a cockney tradesman raising prices when he hears an American accent? Bar stewards.
BeakerSt: Welcome back...not sure that one will fit the brief?!
Without no place to doubts, the symbol of London is the Big Ben, as the Eiffel Tower is of Paris!
