Well the weather forecast was useless...thankfully!!  Beautiful weekend here, hope you had a good one too.  This shot, pardon the pun, was from my New Year visit to Melbourne.  I'm not a sports photographer by a long way and I don't own a long lens so I got what I could.  I like the graphic image of the approaching shadow and the name and then the drama of the toss.  I liked it anyway :)

Brief again simple...so simple that I'm not going to limit it all, I'll be a little more generous with 'relevance' scores...but maybe harsher elsewhere  ;)

Really like this one Simon, and a grand job without a zoom though for me I would like to see the ball... traditional, I know smile
BeakerSt: I agree...there's a shadow of one! wink
Nice action shot. Cheers, Dave
You are right, Simon, the so rectangular shade makes the picture very pleasant. The smooth colors, also! smile P.D.: The results of the competition of the chair of May? smile

I like the feeling of anticipation as well as all the things you so rightly say yourself. Great title, too.

I think if you'd had a longer lens you'd have lost some of what makes this work so well. As it is, you've included a place name and enough advertising banners to show that it's a big event in addition to the main subject at the point where he's about to explode into action.

Composition, timing - spot on.

Ball's up - certainly. Balls up - certainly not.
BeakerSt: Very true Colin, thanks and I like your balls up comment! smile
