photoblog image Red Exit

Red Exit

This is the less photographed side of the new Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham, home to the famous and well photographed Selfridges building, here.  As the car parks are based around the original architecture they still offer some more challenging and unusual photogenic scenes  :)

Have a nice weekend all...

June's Challenge - "In my kitchen" - entries by June 30th
Brief again simple...so simple that I'm not going to limit it all, I'll be a little more generous with 'relevance' scores...but maybe harsher elsewhere  ;)

My dad grew up in Birmingham. I've been to the Bullring, when I was 11 (that would be in the 70s). All I remember is trying to eat some greasy chips that I ended up feeding to seagulls.

I love this photo because of the old brick, and the repetition of the arches, and the light. I don't like the grey cinderblock wall in the background, but I think that's the point, isn't it?

Like it. Nice framing...

The framing is great, and the old brickwork is tremendous. I like the accent of the red shutter door, too. All in all, a really striking image. I'm with Karen when it comes to the grey block wall, but then I suppose we can't have everything, can we?
As you've said a side of the Bullring that you don't often see captured - nice image.

what a load of Bull! lol

All the usual Beakerst attention to detail, lead in lines, repeating patterns, great framing, lovely shot. mal
He hecho la prueba de tapar la zona del suelo de la imágen y el resultado es que los arcos se ven más importantes. Haz tú la prueba a ver que te parece!

I have tested to cover the zone of the floor of the image and the result is that the arcs are seen more important. Beam you it test to see that it seems to you!
Hi, I want to enter June's Challenge. I didn't take this photo with the contest in mind, and it only occurred to me recently that since it was taken in my kitchen and posted in June, I could enter it. It's this one from June 6:

Thanks!
