Blue Yonder

Same view, different take on things  :)

I prefer this subject and the processing came out better...less grain, better colour etc

Challenge II - "Shadow" closing date is the end of the month.
Brief is simple, the focal point of the shot has to be a shadow.  I don't want to any pet's called Shadow or a stack of money won on a horse called Shadow...pure and simple it has to be a shadow based shot.  The reason I have set this as the challenge is that quite often we are distracted by the solid subject, whether it be a person or a lamp or chair and quite often we overlook the shadow it has created in either bright sunlight or even strong light.  It can make a interesting composition when considered.

This is a Reggie Perrin moment Simon! Have you walked into the sea never to return? lol

Beautiful scene and image. mal
BeakerSt: Find out tomorrow... Damn I've replied so you know I'm still here!
I like this shot better than yesterdays - the overall impression is calmness, and I think the chair fits to that emotion - the surfer doesn't add that or is a strong opposite enough (sorry, difficult explaining in English....)

Great idea with your Challenge, here is my humble entry: http://aksel.shutterchance.com/photoblog/71242.htm

Relevance and Creativity
It’s ok, clearly a shadow but there’s not a lot in there to be creative about. 6

Overall impact
Hmmm, not sure what to say. It’s an interesting subject that you’ve chosen and the angle gives it a bit of interest but overall there’s not really a lot to keep me looking at it. Scores a 6

Composition
With so little in the shot there’s not a lot to judge. I like the backdrop of the paving slabs but the white corner on the left is a little distracting. The angle of the lamps shadow is good cutting across the image. Scores a 7

Quality of image
It’s a bit flat in it’s tones/shades which may explain why it doesn’t have massive impact to keep the viewer interested. Scores 7
